I am a professional singer and voice teacher currently on the faculty at John Leggio's Center for the Performing Arts, and I am taking new students at the studio. My performing career includes musical theater, classical concert, oratorio and opera, and I have established most of my recent work in the greater Tampa Bay area. I have taught private and group voice lessons for over 15 years to students age 8 through adult, including Group Voice for Non-Majors at USF where I received my Master's degr
ee in Voice Performance. I also have a Bachelor's in Voice Performance and Music Education from Stetson University.
My lessons emphasize classical voice technique with proper posture, diaphragmatic breathing, pure vowel production and forward resonance with a lifted palate. This technique is also incorporated into a "healthy" belt singing when performing songs that require that singing style. I also believe in the importance of whole musicianship and incorporate ear-training, theory and sight singing into students' studies whenever possible.
Repertoire suitable for young singers is primarily used with attention and sensitivity given to changing voices. This usually consists mainly of musical theater songs because of the emphasis at our school. However, students interested in other styles of music such as pop, classical, or even light opera are encouraged to explore those areas of study within my studio.
Spaces are available for weekly or biweekly lessons for 30 minutes at a rate of $30/lesson. Thank you and I hope you will consider joining my studio. You are welcome to contact me via email or phone with any questions.
