U.S. COLLEGE COUNSELING – This offer is for college counseling services to American and foreign families seeking assistance with U.S. (and Canadian) colleges, their entrance requirements, the application process, their costs, the opportunities for financial aid/scholarships, and the actual enrollment process. I am a French-speaking, American parent of two current university students, both at very selective schools and both receiving major financial awards, available to guide your child through t
he college investigation, selection, and application process, along with you, the parents, through the financial application and disclosure process. I have personally visited more than 50 of the most selective colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and can discuss many of their differences. Depending on your child, these services can include • Determining a target tier of colleges based on recent academic performance by the student • Identification of colleges that particularly match the academic interest of the student and college environment preferences of both the student and parents • Standardized testing options, sequencing, scheduling, and submission • Cost comparisons of different colleges • Essay assistance, both for the Common Application and those for specific colleges • Final application completion and submission • Strategies and preparation of financial aid applications—FAFSA, CSS Profile, and IDOC—for parents • Selection, planning and conduct of on-site college visits Given the amount of work involved in the college application process, planning should begin no later than the end of sophomore year. You can expect these services to continue to be available to you through the end of your child's senior year, when the selection and enrollment has been completed. Please contact me if you are in need of assistance and would like additional information. Jonathan S. Cantor 1.917.355.5800 (mobile)
