After 39 years of doing business downtown, Lastick Furniture & Floor Coverings has continued to satisfy customers. We believe that no matter how much money a customer has to spend on furniture and flooring, they should get the absolute most for their money. At Lastick Furniture you receive quality affordable home furnishings.
In 2010 Lastick Furniture received The Mercury's Reader's Choice Award for the third consecutive year, and the Harry C. Kahn Memorial Retailer of the Year Award, presente
d by the Tri-State Home Furnishings Association. The award is received for outstanding dedication and professionalism in the Home Furnishings Industry.
The Lastick family entered the furniture business in 1973 when Jerry Lastick and his parents, Eli and Sonia Lastick, opened a shop at 310 E. High St., the former Eagles building. A year later, the family purchased the Block Furniture building at 269 E. High St., their current location.
Lastick's showcase gallery status gives them preferred pricing, along with shipping and ordering privileges that allow the shop to sell the newest looks at the lowest prices in the area, bar none. The showcase has been a hit with new and long-time customers in the immediate vicinity as well as shoppers from as far away as the Main Line and Bucks and Delaware counties. Lastick relies on word of mouth as one of their best means of advertising, while selling at the lowest prices.
Additionally, the flooring store has been given a complete makeover. Petnick's husband, Martin, runs the flooring department, which is in the building across the street. Flooring department additions include new lighting and displays along with new flooring throughout the 5,000-square-foot showroom.
The hottest selling floor is ceramic tile. Not only is it a surface that endures heavy traffic beautifully, but it is also one of the earliest manmade building materials. Just about any color, pattern and texture can be found.
Hardwood is another strong seller. Lastick offers many wood types not typically found in big box stores. These include Brazilian mahogany and cherry, tiger wood, hickory, cork maple and lyptus. Other types of floor coverings offered include laminates, carpets and vinyl.
Now with a total of about 28,000 square feet of selling space, Lastick, Petnick and their employees can cater to all trends with ease. Lastick prides itself in its professional installers. All work is guaranteed.
Lastick said the secret to the success is simple: Good products at reasonable prices and personalized service after the sale.
