Riverside Recreation opened in the summer of 2011 by Pam and Tim Sneeringer. We are located in Forest County along the scenic Allegheny River in West Hickory PA. The Allegheny River is in Northwest Pennsylvania in the heart of the 500,000 acre Allegheny National Forest. We have an 8 mile canoe or kayak float on the Allegheny River from Tidioute to West Hickory which will take about 2 to 4 hours. A 10 mile and overnight floats are also available. You will be shuttled up river to Tidioute or
other designated launches and will float down to West Hickory. This stretch of river is calm with a few ripples, a few deep sections, and with no white water. It's a very relaxing and enjoyable trip. Most sections of the river the depth will be 3 feet or less.
All kayaks are single Old Town and the canoes are 17 foot Old Town. Canoes have two seats but are long enough to hold 1 or 2 small children. Life jackets, whistles, and paddles are provided. You will be required to sign a waiver form. Tubes are not available to rent.
